What is Thermage?

Thermage is a safe and clinically proven way to tighten and contour the skin, achieving improvements in tone, contour, and texture naturally by stimulating your own collagen.

Thermage is completely non-invasive: it requires no surgery or injections. A single session tightens existing collagen and stimulates the growth of new collagen. Improvements are seen immediately and continue to appear for up to six months. Results can last for years.

The Thermage procedure is only available in the offices of qualified doctors. The procedure is typically performed in a single session that can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the area being treated. How does Thermage work?

The skin consists of three distinct layers: an outer visible layer on the surface called the epidermis, a collagen-rich middle layer beneath the surface called the dermis, and an inner layer below the dermis called the subcutaneous layer, also known as the fat layer, which has a network of collagen fibers.

When the collagen in these three layers is damaged due to sun exposure, heredity, or the normal aging process, your face begins to sag and wrinkle. Logically, treatments that only work on the surface cannot restore collagen in the deeper layers of your skin.

Thermage is the only non-invasive procedure that tightens and renews collagen in all three layers of the skin. How does it do this? Thermage’s unique Capacitive Radiofrequency technology safely heats the middle layer of the skin and the collagen network in the inner layer, causing an immediate tightening effect while also improving tone and texture. Is it suitable for all skin types?

How long does the session last?

During the treatment, you will feel a brief warming sensation each time Thermage delivers radiofrequency energy to the middle layers of your skin. This indicates that your collagen is being stimulated and tightened.

After the session, do I need rest?

After the treatment, your skin may appear slightly red for one or two days. However, most people return to their regular activities immediately after the procedure, without any downtime or special aftercare.

What should I expect from the treatment?

Immediate results: You should feel and see smoother and firmer skin immediately after your Thermage treatment. You may also notice some contouring effects that begin to enhance the shape of your face.
